Roam Electric has today the 18th of September, 2023 announced the launch of the Roam Move Shuttle Bus, the first fully electric bus manufactured in Kenya.
This is the Company’s second type of bus after the Roam Rapid – Roam’s electric mass transit bus also developed in Kenya currently operating under Metro Trans within Nairobi.
Roam Move Shuttle Bus
The newly launched Roam Move Shuttle Bus comes with a 170 kWh battery pack and can travel for a distance of upto 200 km on a single charge when fully loaded. The bus also incorporates a fast plug-in battery charging that ensures the bus is fully charged in less than two hours.
The electric bus has a spacious interior with a capacity to accommodate 51 passengers. It also comes with ergonomic seating, spacious aisles, and a whisper-quiet ride that enhances the passenger experience. Safety-wise, it is equipped with cutting-edge safety features which include: collision avoidance systems, advanced driver assistance, and robust structural integrity.
Dimension-wise, the bus has a length of 9500mm, a width of 2500mm, and is 3200 mm high. It has one (1) main passenger door and one driver door. It weighs 13,500 kg and has a top speed of 80 km/hr.
