Popular King of Drift Ahmad Dahan is in Kenya for a one-week visit to Kenya courtesy of Red bull. The culmination of his visit will be an event dubbed ‘Red bull Carpark Drift’ which will take place at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) on Saturday 22nd October 2022.
Ahmad owns several sports cars and for the Saturday event, he will be driving a tuned 1200hp, 9400rpm 2JZ’d Carbon Kevlar Lexus RCF christened “katana”. He has a team that is involved in the building of his vehicles and he does not shy away from spending huge amounts of money to ensure the safety of his cars and even himself. Safety is a big priority to him.
Born in the year 1987, his interest in drift racing grew after he was gifted a modified car by his parents. The 35-year-old has several championships under his belt. He is the Guinness World Record Holder for the longest twin drift ever. In 2011, he took part in the Red Bull Car Park Drift, and surprisingly enough, he won the first three events that he appeared.
Other achievements in his name include:
- Jordan Drift Championship – 2014
- Red Bull Car Park Drift Championship – 2014 & 2015
- King of the Desert in the Annual King of Drift Series – 2016 & 2017
- Emirates Drift Championship in Abu Dhabi – 2018 & 2019
The Jordanian drifter is disciplined and there is not known to court controversy. His motto and a popular phrase he uses in reference to drifting is ‘Sideways is the new forward’
Ahmad is involved in mentoring young and upcoming motorsport drifters which will be part of the Saturday event. Entry to the event is free and we hope to see you all there. Just a heads up, the Lexus that Ahmad will be driving is loud; like really loud, so be warned accordingly. You can check out his Instagram Page for his drifting videos.
