The Authority said the disruption would be necessary to allow the installation of a cross culvert.
“We wish to notify the general public that Lower Kabete road at the Spring Valley roundabout will experience disruption from 6am Saturday, 25th March 2023 to 6am Tuesday 28th march 2023. This is to allow the installation of a cross culvert,” read part of the statement.
“Motorists are advised to drive with caution as they approach the section.” Read part of the statement. Further, KURA stated that there will be traffic marshalls at the concerned section to guide motorists and ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
Traffic Disruptions
In Kenya, it is normal for various road agencies to issue notices of traffic inconveniences from road construction. The agencies will more often than not endeavor to provide alternative routes.
Repair and recarpeting of the road started sometime last year with the repair of the sidewalks. Amidst the demonstrations witnessed on Monday 20th March, Lower Kabete road was getting recarpeted with some Kenyans saying the demonstrations reduced traffic making it easier for the contractor.
