CFAO Motors Kenya (formerly Toyota Kenya) and Dt Dobie have announced a major strategic reorganization that will have an impact on the Kenyan Automotive market. The two entities have announced a merger of their operations in an effort to grow their market share. The new entity will now be referred to as CFAO Motors.
This was announced at an event held at Movenpick Hotel, Westlands, Nairobi.
CFAO has been the exclusive distributor of new Toyota, Yamaha, and Hino cars. CFAO has also been offering new Suzuki and quality used vehicles under Automark. DT Dobie on the other hand has been the distributor of Mercedes, VW, Hyundai, and Sino Trucks.
Toyota & Yamaha Division, headed by Joshua Anya, will oversee all Toyota business, Automark pre-owned vehicles, and Yamaha 2-wheel division. Anya will also be responsible for the new state-of-the-art body and paint shop. The former Toyota Kenya office will now serve as CFAO’s corporate head office.
CFAO Motors Kenya’s Multi-Brand and Equipment Division, headed by Chris Ndala, will oversee passenger car makes including Volkswagen, Suzuki, and Mercedes Benz, and all truck and bus business with Hino, Hyundai, Mercedes Benz, and Sinotruk (HOWO).
The development comes a few weeks after CMC Motors took a different business strategy where it exited the passenger vehicle segment to focus on agricultural mechanization.
