Embassava Sacco is the latest sacco to receive electric buses from BasiGo. Embassava joins other transport companies and Saccos such as SuperMetro, MetroTrans, OMA Services, and City Hoppa which have taken delivery of electric buses.
This is after the Sacco received a fleet of 4 electric buses. The buses under Embassava Sacco will be plying the CBD- Jacaranda Estate & CBD-Nyayo Estate routes.

Each of the buses is a K6 Electric Bus which is a 25-seat, 100% electric bus designed by BYD Automotive, the world’s leading manufacturer of electric buses. According to basi-go.com, the K6 Electric bus features a 250 Kilometre of silent, emissions-free driving range and a recharge time of less than 4 hours.
On its website, BasiGo has a unique feature known as Bus Locator where anyone can locate any of the buses from BasiGo in real-time. This feature enables one to plan their trip accordingly.

Global warming has been a great issue of concern the world over with fossil fuel emission being touted as one of the causes. BasiGo states that their buses have so far driven 265,289 electric Kilometers and as a result avoided 121.5 tonnes of CO2 emission. Further, it states that it has avoided the use of 50,245 Litres of Diesel, and its buses have ferried 340,000 passengers.
Over the last few years, Kenya has experienced a paradigm shift where motorists have been taking up electric cars. Basi Go has been one of the players trying to revolutionize the public service transport sector by introducing fully electric buses.
